Surprisingly High Heat's entry into the 2003 baseball market can best be described as a hardball analogy itself: As the market is full of new contenders and stars entering the prime of their careers, our old friend High Heat laces them up for just one more season to prove it still has what it takes. One of the last remaining players of a bygone era, it does its job well and does it well. Even if it can't keep up with younger and more flexible newcomers.
But like everything else about High Heat 2004, the good is almost offset by the bad. The player faces are hideous, with almost none of them looking anything remotely like their real-life counterparts. The running animations of the fielders still looks a bit silly, and the lack of collision detection gives things an amateurish appearance, like when a fielder walks through the base runner standing on the bag. Overall, though, the graphics are a big improvement and should help to sell more copies of the game.
Всё, что относится непосредственно к бейсболу, в HH 2004 на высоте. Удобное управление, умная камера, неплохой AI, а главная составляющая бейсбольного симулятора — дуэль питчера и бэттера — проработана самым тщательным образом.
